For further integration of the Russian Federation into the international trading system and creation of conditions for the effective interaction of the Russian Federation with the World Trade Organization, by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 898 of December 10, 2013, the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the World Trade Organization, which is managed by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, was established.
Permanent Representative of Russia to the WTO is D. V. Lyakishev — Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 581 of December 05, 2019.
The main tasks of the Permanent Mission are:
- Participation in the development and implementation of the unified trade policy of the Russian Federation.
- Ensuring protection of the interests of the Russian Federation in negotiations under the framework of the WTO.
- Review of the activities of the WTO, its members and observers.
- Promotion of trade and economic relations between the Russian Federation and members of the World Trade Organization.
