Department for Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects

The Department is responsible for integrating and coordinating the promotion of the Russian economic agenda on the core multilateral platforms, including international institutions and regional commissions of the UN system, the Group of Twenty (G20), OECD, SCO, APEC, ASEAN, BRICS, and other formats. 

The priority operational areas on international platforms are the digital economy, improving the quality of life, sustainable development and climate, reducing the gap in economic development and integration of remote territories, developing entrepreneurial initiatives (including cooperation in the field of small and medium-sized businesses and development of female entrepreneurship), as well as the project activity.

Besides, the Department coordinates Russia's interaction with the OECD and studies the best international practices for their implementation in the Russian legislation.

The Department activities include the development of trade and economic relationships between Russia and South-East Asian countries and Japan. The Department coordinates working of the Russian parts of intergovernmental commissions with Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Japan, interacts with business associations, development institutions, business councils of Japan and South-East Asian countries, with the Russian part of the business councils of international organisations, as well as with the scientific and expert community.
