Another 40 million rubles of subsidies were granted to Russian companies for the promotion of audiovisual and IT products abroad until 2022. In particular, RWV Film received more than 20 million rubles, KD Studios and CTB Film Company also received more than 20 million rubles (in addition to the previous tranches) for the promotion of audiovisual and IT products abroad until 2022. Most of the subsidies were granted earlier in October.

In total, according to the results of 2020, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, together with the Russian Export Center, concluded 13 agreements with companies for 300 million rubles in total for the promotion of audiovisual and IT products abroad until 2022 as part of the program on state support for the IT and media industry.

The implementation of these projects will allow domestic products to begin conquering foreign markets in about 134 countries. In particular, the European Union, China, the countries of the African continent, Asia, and South America. For this purpose, 300 million rubles were allocated from the budget. The expected export revenue from the implementation of these projects in 2022 will be about 1.5 billion rubles.

The subsidy will compensate up to 80% of the organizations' expenses for marketing research and legal support of export transactions, as well as language adaptation of Russian products, including design development, interface of IT products, registration and renewal of trademarks and international patents.

"11 Russian companies have taken part in the program. They received subsidies for the promotion, adaptation and certification of their products to the requirements of foreign markets. The program was approved at the end of 2019 and its launch was eagerly awaited by representatives of animation and cinematography. And we are pleased to note that we managed to attract the attention of IT companies to the program. Participants were specially selected for compliance with the requirements.  One of the recipients of the subsidy was the IT company Rubius Group, which offers a rather interesting product for business support. This is a Visius video platform that analyzes the car and pedestrian traffic around the location and helps you choose the premises for opening a business with the highest capacity. Russia is ready to enter foreign markets with a high-quality domestic product," – said Vladimir Ilichyov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia.

According to him, the implementation of the program will help Russian companies to maintain and expand the number of jobs, and the state, in turn, will receive additional tax revenues.

"In addition, the promotion of the most successful Russian products abroad will contribute to the development of a positive image of Russia," the Deputy Minister pointed out.

"We support the implementation of the program, because it is a huge contribution to the development of exports in the field of cinematography and creative industries. Companies receive support for the marketing component, development and production of advertising products in foreign languages, their placement in the media and in the Internet, for dubbing and subtitling audio-visual products. We are very pleased with the fact that some of the projects that have already received subsidies under this program were supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Cinema Foundation, for example, "Space Dogs: Return to Earth", "Abigail", "Cosmoball", "The Fixies", – commented the Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia, Maxim Ksenzov.

"It is extremely important to adapt Russian products for foreign markets, thereby increasing their competitiveness. Starting from dubbing and subtitling, ending with localization of approaches to promotion. This approach will certainly help our manufacturers to expand their presence in foreign markets. This year, the Ministry of Culture of Russia together with the Federal Agency on Culture and Cinematography (Roskino) launched the project "Russian Film Festival online", in which the promotion of Russian films was adapted to the countries of the events – Australia, Mexico, Spain and Brazil. At the same time, it is important to increase the transparency of the distribution of subsidies and involve key industry leaders in making decisions of this kind," said Roskino CEO Evgenia Markova.
