Deputy Minister of economic development Ilya Torosov has taken part in an international online platform on sustainable economic recovery after the pandemic. The platform was opened during the Ministerial online conference on September 3.
The event was organized by the Government of Japan and brought together representatives of several dozen countries and international organizations of the UN system. Greetings to the participants were addressed by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the Executive Secretary of the UN FCCC, Patricia Espinosa. An online platform created by the organizers allowed participating countries to exchange experiences and best practices in the field of climate and environmental protection that will contribute to economic recovery.
As Ilya Torosov stated in his video message, Russia is open to a global dialogue on sustainable economic recovery from the effects of the pandemic. "We are convinced that a sustainable recovery from the pandemic requires close cooperation between countries and the exchange of experience, especially on the green track. In our opinion, the exchange of best practices in this area will help to improve the efficiency of energy and industry and reduce their impact on the climate," Torosov said.
