On November 17, 2020, the CCI hosted a Business Breakfast with the Russian Federation's Minister of economic development Maxim Reshetnikov, President of the Russian CCI Sergey Katyrin, and representatives of the business community.
The meeting was devoted to issues of economic cooperation and integration with the EAEU member states.
During his speech, Maxim Reshetnikov highlighted the important joint projects with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry: the development of an anti-crisis plan, the formation of a Unified plan for achieving national goals. The Minister noted: "A lot of joint work has been done to support businesses and enterprises in the crisis, and now we have to restore the economy, enter the growth trajectory and achieve national goals through the implementation of national projects."
Maxim Reshetnikov noted the importance of feedback from regional teams and the business community, since communication with entrepreneurs allowed adjusting anti-crisis programs and modernizing national projects in the most difficult months, taking into account the request and needs of business.
"Now I am actively visiting the regions, constantly in touch with business. I hope that you will continue to collect and form systemic problems and come to us with specific proposals," the Minister noted.
The Minister paid special attention to working with the EAEU countries.
So, in recent months, together with our colleagues from EAEU, we have managed to develop an "anti-COVID" plan, a set of measures in the field of health and sanitary and epidemiological well-being to combat coronavirus. A document on the Strategic direction of development of the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025 is being executed.
In addition, work continues on removing barriers to business: a priority in the work of both the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the Government of the Russian Federation. Answering the question of Konstantin Babkin, Chairman of the Council of the Russian Chamber of Commerce on Industrial Policy and Competitiveness of the Russian economy, about the reduction of subsidies from Kazakhstan for Russian equipment by 4 times, the Minister noted that the Ministry continues to work with foreign colleagues to identify barriers that hinder the development of Russian business in the territory of the Eurasian space. At present, the discriminatory measure applied by Kazakhstan in waste collection in relation to agricultural machinery has been eliminated. The Republic of Belarus has lifted restrictions on access to their dietary supplements market. Despite this, 59 obstacles remain in the Union market today, including 11 barriers, 13 exemptions and 35 restrictions.
Maxim Reshetnikov stressed: "we carefully collect and consider all offers from the business, we are interested in feedback. The Russian CCI is also doing this work, it identifies barriers and obstacles for business on the territory of our partners."
In addition, the participants discussed the work of the Eurasian Development Bank — there is a need for additional support for projects. As a result, it was decided to work out the issue of linking its activities with the REC JSC activities.
During the discussion, Vladimir Gamza, Chairman of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council for financial, industrial and investment policy, also thanked Minister Maxim Reshetnikov for the support by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development for the draft law on leasing support. The bill is under consideration in the State Duma.
The CCI Business Breakfast is held as part of the "Meetings in Ilinka" cycle. The event was attended by Vladimir Gamza, Chairman of the Russian CCI Council for financial, industrial and investment policy Yuri Kalinin, President of the ROSMEDPROM Association, Konstantin Anatolievich Babkin, President of the Rosspetsmash Association, Chairman of the Russian CCI Council for industrial policy and competitiveness of the Russian economy (VKS), Valery Fomichev, President of the Samara region CCI (VKS), Yuri Shafranik, Chairman of the Council of the Union of oil and gas producers of Russia, Andrey Spartak, Director of the all-Russian Research Conjuncture Institute JSC, Vice President of the CCI of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko, as well as representatives of regional CCI.
