Russia is ready to share its products and know-how in the digital sphere with other member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov during the plenary meeting of the SCO Economic Forum on a topic of "Strengthening cooperation in the digital economy, e-commerce and innovation", which took place on June 23 in Dushanbe.
According to the minister, Russia already has digital solutions that help to cope with the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and contribute to economic growth. Thus, the mobile application "Traveling without COVID-19" helped not only to survive the pandemic, but also to ensure smooth migration processes with the closest neighbors. "Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have already joined the project, which means that citizens of our countries will be able to cross borders under restrictions: both on business and as tourists," the head of the Ministry of Economic Development said.
In addition, on July 1, the vacancy search system "Work without Borders", developed as part of the digital agenda of the EAEU, is launched. The system provides access to information about vacancies and applicants in the information systems of the member countries of the organization. "We are ready to expand the project's capabilities to the SCO area," the minister confirmed.
Another Russian initiative is the SCO Best Solutions Bank in the field of remote technologies development. The document includes already about 170 technologies and practices in the field of infrastructure, social services, agriculture, education, health care, and public administration. "Here we are ready not only to share our best practices, but also to offer competitive digital products and solutions," Maxim Reshetnikov said.
In addition, Russia can offer its SCO colleagues its best regulatory practices for the implementation of digital innovations. In particular, it includes unmanned taxi, cargo transportation by drones, telemedicine technologies support and big data processing, the minister recalled. “If the solutions prove their effectiveness, and we have no doubt about it, we will scale them to the entire territory of Russia, we will translate the experiment regime into permanent legislation and offer it to other countries,” he concluded.
“We are all interested in an early return to a normal lifestyle and the restoration of the economic development of our countries. Therefore, today, more than ever, it is necessary to jointly fight new challenges, "said the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavkizoda Zavki Amin in his speech.
He cited the position of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon that, in the context of the current situation, it is very important to build up trade and economic cooperation in the SCO area. “Full-scale use of the economic potential will allow us to significantly expand trade and economic cooperation,” the minister stressed.
