Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on creation of Mendeleev Valley Innovation Scientific and Technological Centre. The Centre will specialize in chemistry, biotechnology, agrobiotechnology, high-tech, medical and pharmaceutical chemistry, etc.
According to Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Oksana Tarasenko, this is the first example of a core ISTC focused directly on the chemical industry, which will propel to a qualitatively new level both training of personnel and mutual science and business implementation. Mendeleev Valley will become the most mobile centre tailored to specific market needs. Therefore, all parties are most committed and motivated to achieve results," she said. She added that this ISTC will be the third in order this year.
The project partners will be leading Russian chemical and pharmaceutical companies and research institutes, development institutes, and the Russian Academy of Sciences. The concept of the innovative scientific and technological centre will allow combining R&D departments of large companies, medium and small-sized companies on the territory of the Mendeleev Valley and providing them with access to the necessary comprehensive infrastructure and pilot production.
Participation in the project of D. Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, a leading educational and scientific organization in the field of chemistry and chemical technology, will be an important advantage of the Centre. Mendeleev Valley residents will be able to use the opportunities of Mendeleev International Business Academy for advanced technical and business education on preferential terms, search for and attract venture capital funding with the help of Russia's first chemical start up accelerator Mendeleev and receive technical support from the University engineering centre.
Design and construction of the first blocks of Mendeleev Valley on the territory of the Tushino complex of the University of Chemical Technology of Russia will begin in 2020.
