The head of the Department got acquainted with the work of the anchor investor of the site –the greenhouse complex "Agro-Invest" LLC, as well as a new investment project for the production of fiberboard.
"On the example of the Kaluga SEZ, we see that the tool effectively fulfills its role as a point of growth for the regional economy. Today's visit to enterprises showed that many supplies of raw materials and technologies are already of Russian origin, and SEZs attract a large layer of the economy, involve a significant number of enterprises. This complicates the structure of the economy, creates new jobs and increases wages," Maxim Reshetnikov said.
The Kaluga SEZ was established in December 2012 and 17 resident companies are registered on the site. The total amount of investments made by residents is 31 billion rubles, and almost 2,000 new jobs have been created. In total, there are 33 special economic zones in Russia, which attracted 818 residents with an investment volume of more than 445 billion rubles. SEZ residents created more than 40,000 new jobs, paid 52.8 billion rubles of taxes to all budgets, 56 billion rubles of customs payments and 26.35 billion rubles of insurance premiums.
