Head of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Oreshkin and Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Pankratov signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the intensification of trade and economic cooperation and exchange of experience in implementation of national projects. The ceremony took place under the framework of the 8th Russian-Kyrgyz interregional conference in attendance of the presidents of the two countries.
In accordance with the document, the parties will work to facilitate mutual access of goods and services, to create favorable conditions for joint productions and to promote the growth of mutual investments and business contacts strengthening. Besides, it is planned to arrange an information exchange on the national projects implementation and amendments in the legislation of the two countries.
“We will exchange experience. The Kyrgyz delegation will visit us and study what we do from the managerial point of view, what we do from the technological point of view. Kyrgyz partners, of course, will see whether they can participate in these projects, and this will become another level of cooperation between our countries,” Maxim Oreshkin commented on the memorandum signing.
The Minister also highlighted significant progress in strengthening of economic relations between the countries. He mentioned examples of cooperation in the field of digital economy, high-tech industry (production of solar panels), as well as the opening of Russian markets for Kyrgyz agricultural producers.
In 2018, the growth of trade between Russia and Kyrgyzstan exceeded 17% and reached 1.9 billion dollars. The Intergovernmental Program of Economic Cooperation signed last year is the basis for cooperation increasing.
Kyrgyzstan has the National Development Strategy for 2018-2040. Russia launched national projects in 12 areas. Their goal is to ensure a breakthrough scientific, technological and socio-economic development.
Earlier, the participation in Russian national projects was discussed with the leaders of Uzbekistan. During the visit to Tashkent on March 7, the Head of the Ministry of Economic Development noted that the Russian side was ready to share experience and existing practices, as well as to involve partners actively in this activity.
