Sergey Galkin: implementation of the individual development program of the Republic of Karelia has been given a good start

Deputy Minister Sergey Galkin has taken part in the meeting of the State Commission on preparations for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia which will be celebrated this weekend in Petrozavodsk. During the meeting, the Deputy Minister spoke about the implementation of the Federal target program in Karelia, as well as the individual program for the region development, curated by the Ministry of Economic Development. 

The Federal target program (FTP) has been implemented in the Republic since 2016, the main activities are aimed at the construction and reconstruction of social and road infrastructure facilities, as well as promoting the implementation of private investment projects. Sergey Galkin noted that to date, 11 of the 53 facilities have been put into operation, and 26 more are planned to be completed this year. The regional Federal target program is scheduled to be completed in 2021.

"Further social and economic development of Karelia, in addition to existing national projects and state programs, will be carried out including within the framework of the Individual development program of the Republic, which was approved by the Government in April this year. Within the program framework, 3 activities have already been implemented and active work is underway on the remaining 32. In particular, design documentation was developed for 2 facilities and construction and installation works began, as well as preparatory work for the next year. We can talk about a good start in the implementation of the program," Sergei Galkin explained. 

In 2020, within the framework of the individual program for the development of Karelia, it is planned to implement 4 activities, including the development of the archaeological complex "Belomorskie Petroglyphs" and the construction of a robotic dairy farm. The total amount of funding for the program's activities by the end of the year will be 1 billion rubles. In total, 5 billion rubles are planned to be allocated from the Federal budget within the duration of the program until 2024. The program will be resulted in creation of about 1,700 new jobs in Karelia and implementation of 10 new investment projects.
